Who's the host
The Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC), with the accumulated soft power base of the “Presidents' Forum of Southeast Asia and Taiwan Universities founded by NCKU” (SATU PRESIDENTS' FORUM), establishes the platform - Global Academic Industry Alliance(GAIA) - to connect the global top medical research centers and institutes. Through the academic cooperation and exchanges, Taiwan’s healthcare and medical device industry wants to build up a closer connection with the AEC, Middle East, Oceania, Latin America countries, and so on.
About the Program
What we'd like to do
Considering the necessity of extending the international industry-academic collaboration, MDIC and other GAIA members invite key-opinion leaders, renowned professors, medical doctors, researchers and students from developing countries to this 4-day international conference in Tainan, Taiwan.
In this conference , the participants will join multidisciplinary training courses and learned about Medical Technology innovation practice through seminars and workshops on healthcare technology design, regulation, commercialization, entrepreneurship and industrial perspectives. They will be working in teams to solve medical unmet clinical needs and healthcare issues by brainstorming and combining their expertise in various fields regarding healthcare development. Some academic visits to the National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), and Southern Taiwan Medical Device Industry Cluster (STMDIC) will also be arranged.
Besides, the conference also creates a collaborative forum by bringing together young researchers, educators and physicians from around the world. Accordingly, the GAIA will be a powerful platform for all universities and enterprises of prosperous economies to extend their international business marketplace, and also an important channel in the cross-culture potential trade cooperation.Main Purposes
What we'd like to build up
The main purposes of this conference are to (1) establish a value-chain platform for international cooperation, (2) assist institutions in building their international network, (3) understand healthcare development in developing countries, and (4) satisfy future healthcare needs in the coming aging society.
We expect the event would help the participators grasp the future healthcare trend precisely, know how to build up a healthcare network with the state-of-the-art technology, and be capable of effectively promoting the healthcare in aging society with lower healthcare cost.Past Achievement

In 2015 to 2018, there were more than 300 people from 30 countries participated in "International Conference on Future Healthcare and Economic Development." This international seminar will solid the GAIA model and connect the academic organizations. We are looking forward to a win-win outcome and reaching the goal of making substantial economic benefits mutually with all our members and participants.

Transportation
From Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
Flight to the KHH airport is highly suggested considering it's closer to Tainan.
There are two transportation suggestions from KHH airport to the Hotel:
1. By TRA
(1) Take Kaohsiung MRT from the Airport Station (R4) to Kaohsiung Main Station (R11).
(2) Take the express trains to Tainan Station.
(3) After arriving at Tainan Station, please take a taxi to the hotel .
2. By THSR
(1) Take Kaohsiung MRT from the Airport Station (R4) to THSR Zuoying Station (R16).
(2) Take the THSR Train to THSR Tainan Station.
(3) After arriving at THSR Tainan Station, please take a taxi to the hotel .
The total traveling time is about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
Flight to the TPE airport is also no problem.
By THSR
(1)Take Taoyuan Airport MRT from the Airport Terminal Station(A12~A14) Taoyuan THSR Station (A18).
(2) Take the THSR Train to THSR Tainan Station.
(3) After arriving at THSR Tainan Station, please take a taxi to the hotel.
The total traveling time is about 3 hours.
